9 ft ceilings. There was a time when eight foot ceilings were the norm. Ron through the 70s and well into the 80s 8 foot tall ceilings were the rule and bathroom ceilings were typically dropped to 7 feet. For a 10 ft ceiling we suggest taller windows and 8 ft doors.
These larger crowns are often built up using 2 or more moulding profiles and are also referred to as a cornice. 16 ft ceiling 48 in downrod. Today however not uncommonly most ceilings are 9 or even 10 feet in height.

The first floor has 9 ft. The kitchen ceiling allows one to have larger cabinettes to increase the storage space. I suggest all the 12 deep uppers go to 7 6 all the deeper cabs go to 8.
Today 9 foot ceilings are the rule. 18 ft ceiling 60 in downrod. Some custom builders consider 9 ft.
